Health economic evaluation of exercise interventions in people over 60 years old: A systematic review
2022, Experimental GerontologyCitation Excerpt :These exercise guidelines agree with the recommended best practice for exercises to achieve healthy ageing and improve cost-effectiveness (Bouaziz et al., 2016; Bull et al., 2020; Izquierdo et al., 2021). On the other hand, only one out of seven studies (Davis et al., 2011b) reported a higher cost than recommended by Prieto et al. (2004) US$50,000/QALY. The main reason why the cost per QALY has increased is that the study reports higher incremental QALYs in the control group when compared to that in the exercise group, significantly increasing the cost of ICER per QALY in the experimental groups.
Is Myofascial Release Therapy Cost-Effective When Compared With Manual Therapy to Treat Workers’ Mechanical Neck Pains?
2020, Journal of Manipulative and Physiological TherapeuticsCitation Excerpt :The cost-effectiveness curve was calculated to evaluate the percentage of costs by pairs and to evaluate the outcomes when the experimental intervention was cost-effective compared to the control intervention. All this was calculated according to an additional maximum-cost ratio per additional benefit unit assumed.12,14,24 A comparative analysis between the 2 study groups showed similar baseline clinical and sociodemographic characteristics.17
Systematic review of microeconomic analysis of pregnancy-associated malaria
2020, HeliyonCitation Excerpt :Partial economic evaluations were found in Brazil and Colombia, which demonstrate the economic burden of PAM, but do not relate the costs of managing it to the health gains, in which case full economic evaluations are more useful [46, 47]. In this sense, cost-effectiveness analysis was most frequently applied for PAM, comparing the monetary costs of different interventions with their effects on morbidity, mortality or disability, allowing the prioritisation of health actions [48]. The above applies to cost-effectiveness studies with good methodological quality.
