    These sequences were submitted to Genbank and obtained accession numbers for the gltA sequence (MZ148315) and ompA (MZ148314) sequence. Rickettsia slovaca was first isolated in 1968 from D. marginatus and reported as a cause of disease in humans in 1997 (Raoult et al., 1997). Rickettsia spp. are found worldwide, their distribution is primarily determined by vector ticks.
